How can I download the various mp3 files found in the "Media" section for personal use? I know that this has been covered in the past, but whenever I search for it the answers are "archived", and for some reason I can't access the archived threads. Thanks y'all.

For me when I look at a mp3 in the media section, there's a link: Download MP3. Not sure if that's configurable when the user uploads a mp3.

If you go to listen to the mp3, there should be a link above the "like" and "share" buttons, next to a link to view the description/comments on the tune. The exception is this, when you upload an mp3 you have the option to prevent it being downloaded, in which case the link won't be there

Thanks, Gunnar. I see the "Download MP3" link, but when I press that it only appears to play the MP3. I don't get any option to "save" to my computer.

Gunnar is correct, although sometimes it takes some "fiddling" with the size to get that header to appear. Also if you select "See All" in the mp3 section of the media page, a download option will be included for each tune in the list.
And yes, you can prevent downloading when you post an mp3, so that option may not always appear.

Have you looked in the "downloads" folder in your browser?

Hmmm, I just tried downloading one of ChickenMan's tunes and got the szme result as you. It played but no download. I'm using an Android tablet, so I don't think there's a right click option
Maybe you should post this under "website problems."

Thanks, Mark, but that didn't work either.

So I did this to download one:
1. Click the download mp3 link
2. The player shows up
3. on the right there are the three vertical dots, that has a download linke
4. Was able to download and play it

If you do a long hold (android) on the download button, you get the option to "save link". That is your download.

It looks like that will do the trick, Mark.  Thanks.  I'll try that on my Windows computer when I get home.

Bluetick.

Nope, I don't get either of those options. I tried a long hold on your "Old Beech Leaves," Billy, but there was no "save link" option. This is in Firefox, and some other things are a little odd about this site too, compared to Chrome.

This is how it worked for me in both browers. Not I left out the step in firefox of left clicking the download mp3 link.

Well, I finally got to my home computer, and using both Firefox and MS Edge, I don't see the three dots that Mark mentioned, and still can't find a way to download a mp3 from this forum.

Any other ideas?

Yes, bring it to Eric's attention in the website problrms forum. I'm sure he doesn't want it to be that hard.

Downloading mp3's and saving them works well using Internet Explorer, so I'm able to start saving my old time collection thanks to the good folks here that share their music. I started a thread on the "website problems" section a couple of days ago, but haven't heard a reply yet.

Thanks again, y'all
