Thanks to my daughter I have rediscovered an old friend and started playing again. I'm trying to research my violin and would like to know when it may have been made. I recently had it to a local music store and had it checked out and repaired. The luthier said it was definitely worth doing. The tone sounds much better now.
4/4 full size violin
William & Lewis
Made in Germany
"The David" model #168
My parents bought it used for me around 1979 or 1980.
Any information on when it may have been made would be awesome!
Thanks so much in advance,

Check over on Maestronet.com, The Pegbox. There's a thread near the top about how to photo the fiddle. It's something like "If you're posting photos, read this". Then post those there. Hopefully you'll get a bite or three. Even so, sometimes it's inconclusive.
Thete are a bunch of those fiddles out there. A search of this very site turned up a bunch of different discussions.
