Looking back through earlier posts I read one referring to the Be-Bop scale. I note that it had been read almost 4,000 times ( many, many times more than any other post.) Can I conclude from this that improvisational/bluesy/jazzy style fiddle playing is the style most desired/admired ,much more so than Old Time, Bluegrass, Celtic etc. etc? If not then then is it simply academic interest?

Could be somebody with OCD checking in over and over, trying to understand it.

Well, generally speaking, the more replies a post has the more reads it will have. And I think posts that have more replies stray off topic and possibly have some back and forth arguments going on. I really don’t think be-bop is particularly popular even with jazz fiddlers.

I prefer to improvise, and I can do plenty of that without the be-bop scale, but celtic music is where the money is...……….
