Crack down on bullies. This website is loaded with them. Am I the only one who has noticed that people on here have a typical practice of being condescending and rude?

hmmmm, can't say I've seen any myself, but I generally only read the threads that interest me, so if there's bullying in, say, a build thread I won't have seen it, but that's not to say it doesn't go on. I'd say what would be a useful resource is a report button, or an easy way to report a post.

To date, the only bullying I've experienced here, directed at me, was clearly a case of someone with poor reading comprehension or that dreadful combination of self-loathing accompanied by a big ego and a need to lash out at targets of opportunity.  It gets my blood up momentarily, followed by a sense of wonder that anyone could have so little to occupy their time with.  Then I remember how worked up I can get sometimes at a minor turn of phrase.  Like the man said, for a social animal, mankind is damned unsocial.

In other words, it's nothing to do with you.  Consider the source and move on.  They're pod people, only they can't actually turn you into one yourself unless you participate.  If they're particularly rabid, report them to the monitors and then move on.

I shouldn't be surprised at the bile that I've seen here.  Apparently, even fiddlers can be tightly strung.

It's this directed at me? It appears you posted this after responding to an opinion I offered on another thread.

No, Billy, it's not directed at you. It's just coincidence. Your post put me in mind of something somebody else had said.

I've notice that most fiddlers are tightly strung. Maybe it's due to the fiddle contest culture with all its rules about tuning, bowing, and tune selection which aren't found in other categories. Banjo players seem more laid back, to me, and, the contests have a less complex structure. I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence or if it may mean something.

I've felt that I was bullied once or twice over the years on the Hangout.  A polite personal message to the person solved the problem.. However there was ONE time when someone really laid into me very personally about one of my topics and that person did not allow personal messaging...

I certainly hope that I've never appeared to be a bully......
