Scales and a Lester Flatt Lick in All Keys

Genre: Scales/Exercises  Difficulty: Beginner
Posted by LifesMiracle, updated: 8/26/2015 - 1 Member Comments
Download: TABLEDIT

Notes: Here's every 2 Octave Major scale and the famous Lester Flatt bluegrass lick in every key with backup music to play with. Master the first section in the key of A before moving to the A#/Bb section.

You will be moving up one key at a time using the same fingerings as the section before. When you start the scales beginning on the third string you need to do some maneuvering to play the 2 octave scale. To play a one octave scale start on any note on the fourth, third, or second strings and use the first half of the pattern for the A scale.

You Are My Sunshine "Up the Fretboard" Tutorial

Genre: Bluegrass  Difficulty: Beginner
Posted by LifesMiracle, updated: 8/26/2015
Download: TABLEDIT

Notes: This tutorial is not necessarily for You Are My Sunshine, but rather a tutorial for playing up the neck in 5 different keys AND HARMONIES! Master the 1st section in Ab before advancing to the other sections, and use the exact same fingerings in every key regardless of what the tablature notation says.

Remember as you play higher on the neck, the spacing between the finger positions becomes smaller! Once you master this, you can play this song in all 12 keys AND in different octaves very easily! Just change the starting note and use the same fingerings from this tutorial! Track 2 has the fiddle harmony. As with the melody part, learn the Ab section first before learning the other keys. View Track 1 or 2 by clicking on the 1 or 2 on the top right of the page. Turn Track 1 or 2 on or off by clicking the small green rectangle above the 1 and 2.
