Notes: At the end of the 80's I used to ‘sit in’ with Fishbach and Kirby which became 29 Strings at Durty Nellies in Palatine IL. They asked me to learn the fiddle break to this song. I half- speeded on a Tandberg Tape recorder and got it note for note. In the song John Denver's telling you he is just a simple country bumpkin but there is an extra beat in measures 6 and 14. Once you get the basic tune down you will want to double stop on the open A or E string, which ever is not being used to play the melody line.
