Thanks for the comments! I've heard that bowing described as Georgia Bow or Georgia Shuffle, although Bobby Hicks (whose nose can just be seen in my profile picture) descibed it as a single shuffle (I was taught a single shuffle was just the regular "taters" bowing). Anyway, Bobby says Bill Monroe insisted that Uncle Penn be played entirely with this style of bowing. It is really about the accent on the down bow, it is usually one down and three up in terms of notes. Thanks again!
