This is an old song from the Victorian era written in 1891 by Charles K. Harris. It is a real classic waltz. I learned it from Pete McMahan who could sing the refrain, as well.

A great tune even for beginners, but it is a REAL tune, too.

A tune in A I learned from Cyril Stinnett. Second part reminds you a little of Dance Around Molly.

A tune I got from Cyril Stinnett. In D & A. Probably comes from Canadian Old-Time tradition originally. From "The Project" http://www.charliewalden.com/TheProject/TheProject.htm.

I learned this tune from Pete McMahan. In the eighties Pete was invited to judge a contest in Duluth, MN, several years in a row and I think he learned it up there.

This is one of my favorite old tunes from the Missouri Valley Region played in the past by Cyril Stinnett and Bob Walters. This was recorded in 1988 at Bethel Missouri. Guitar by John Stewart.

This is a little medley Patt and I played at a Contra Dance in 2009. First tune is a Canadian jig I learned from Cyril Stinnett and in the middle of the dance we switch to a popular Sottish Reel.

A great tune I got from Cyril Stinnett many years ago. Sometime we call Liberty sideways.

A great little D tune by the Buddy Thomas, a fiddler from Northern Kentucky. The tune appeared on an LP (later a CD) put out by Rounder called Hop Up Kittypuss. I got the tune from Bob Holt of Ava, MO, who had learned the tune the Thomas LP.

Learned this tune from Pete McMahan. Nice old hoe-down, adaptable to either OT or Blue Grass styles.

This is a great waltz I learned from Taylor McBaine of Columbia, MO. Taylor used more bow pressure and got more volume from his fiddle than anyone I ever heard. Play the A-part of this tune with big power and let 'er ring. I think Taylor got this from Lloyd Wanzer record from the 60s.
