Saturday night I played for a local Robert Burns supper- and wore a kilt in public for the first time! The gig went pretty well, considering that Scottish fiddling is not my forte! I played background music on the fiddle during dinner, and sang Scottish ballads including "A Man's a Man for A' That" and... senior moment... what's the other one... something about a rose! Oh yeah- "Bonnie Doon"- trust me, it does talk about a rose!
This morning there was a knock on the door, and my neighbor hands me a poor copy of my picture in the local paper!
I had gotten my photo taken a week and a half ago while busking at the local Farmer's Market, and forgotten about it! Good pic too- I guess I'll buy the paper and see if I can't get a copy- unfortunately I can't find the pic in the on-line edition yet.
Ah- here it is:
