I was excited about moving to the Asheville area. So much bluegrass, old-time and fiddling in general. And for some reason I lose all motivation to play. It reminds me of growing up in Kentucky and not enjoying bluegrass at all and then joining the Air Force and heading out to California where I "discovered" bluegrass and switched from classical violin to the fiddle. With this history in mind, I'm thinking that, now that I'm moving out to Hawaii, I may just find the motivation and the drive to start playing again. I mean, I'm back here at the Fiddle Hangout and I haven't even moved yet!
Here's to hopin'!
PS- If you live on the big island and want to jam sometime, let me know. I'll be out there in the summer of 2012.

I had the same thing happen. I worked for a publisher that published a quilting magazine. After they sold the magazine, I got interested in quilting and had to pay for a subscription.
