Howdy to all my fellow fiddlers,
I just want to mention that I was voted as the 2010 SPBGMA Fiddle Performer Of The Year at the 36th Annual SPBGMA Midwest Bluegrass Awards held in Jefferson City, MO on January 16th. This is a great honor to me. And I hope that by my playing that I can keep alive the influence of the traditional style of Bluegrass fiddlin' with the many show dates and performances with the band, Men Of The Week. I love to jam with my many friends and am always happy to make new ones. Yes Sir !
Take care,
Gerald "Woo Woo" Jones

I am Indiana boy from Terre Haute and started playing the violin at the age of 8 years old in elementay school. I continued playing classical on the violin until I heard Kenny Baker, Bill Monroe's fiddler, at a Bluegrass festival in Beanblossom, Indiana in 1972. After that first exposure to Bluegrass music, I have been playing that "High Lonesome" style of fiddlin' in several Bluegrass bands over the years ever since. In 1985, I met my lovely wife and relocated to Missouri to continue fiddlin'. I am currently playing in a Bluegrass band called "The Missouri River Band" from the Missouri Ozarks. I also love to play for an old time square dance every once in awhile. Yes, Sir ! " If it ain’t got a fiddle, it ain’t no part of nothing !"
