I'm play several instruments including the fiddle. I like Bluegrass style fiddle but am trying to learn a little more old time. I played banjo in a band called Southern Star Bluegrass for 22 years. I also played twin fiddles in the band with our main fiddler. I play with other local Bluegrass bands when I can and still enjoy firing out some good 5 string banjo when I can. I am very involved in dealing in old Violins and lutherie. I've trained for years under some folks that I'm very grateful for. I've been repairing and restoring old fiddles for a long time and I'm really passionate about old violins. I love old instruments and love to study anything I can that will enhance my skills. I have a dusty but awesome violin workshop which I spend lots of hours entrenched in these old violins. I've provided many players (fiddlers and classical players) their instruments over the years though I've devoted my craft to the fiddling world.. I've owned several hundred violins over the last 25 years and really enjoy putting good playing old violins in the hands of players and making friends out of them as well. I don't mind going the extra mile for folks and like to treat people the way I'd like to be treated. The violin business can be tricky but the bottom line is that the instrument sounds good or it doesn't. I also collect Prewar Gibson banjos. I enjoy fishing and love the outdoors as well as spending time with the family. I also coach basketball. I am truly blessed probably more than I deserve.
