This is a full size violin with a WARM RICH SOUND that is rare with violins that I have owned. It is NOT bright or harsh like many fiddles, it has been played a lot and seasoned well over the years. Very easy to play, one of those fiddles that almost plays itself but also responsive for details like ornaments.

I bought it from a violinist / collector in northern Michigan, he set it aside for me since he knows I live in Madison, WI. The top is fine grain Spruce and the back is Maple with nice flames as shown in the photos above. It has a new set of strings.

The case is sturdy and made of wood, and has a protective cover plus a built-in humidifier. The case was made in the USA and it has a large holder for rosin and accessories and also a smaller holder in the middle of the case.

I'm selling the Stephenson because I own a few violins and I need to part with one. If you would like to look at it and play it, I have a bow you can use, or you can bring a bow of your own.
