Johann Baptiste Schweitzer label in a nice old German trade fiddle. About 120 years old, give or take a few decades. It has been refinished at some point, but not very recently. A few well repaired cracks, and the wear indicates that it has been played and played some more in it's long life. The mechanical tuners are unusual---there is a flat disc that is tightened with a left hand thread knurled locknut. They work very well, there's no slippage when they are snugged up. Set up with new Prim strings and a composite tailpiece. Ships in a good coffin case. This is a really good sounding fiddle!
