Fiddle by Michael Anderson, Lewisburg NC. Number 18, built in 2008.
Nice one piece curly maple back, set up with new Prim strings and composite tailpiece w/ tuners.
Deep bassy tone with even balance across all strings. It's a little larger than a standard 4/4, which may partly account for the deep tone. An online search tells me Mr. Anderson has made over 200 fiddles and they start at around $1200. Price for this one is $550, shipped in an old case good enough for shipping.
For another $100 I can put it in a brand new Core suspension case that retails for $150.(lowest price I could find).
