This fiddle was made in December of 2006 and is #131. If you aren't familiar with Frank or his legendary father Sam, you can check out the many You Tubes of well known fiddlers playing his instruments and of judges remarks from VMAAI in Tucson ,AZ, over the years This will give you a sense of his instruments. Also you can read an article about San Daniels, now deceased, in Strad Magazine... hunt for it via Google. His fiddles come up for sale only rarely and he has retired from building instruments so they will be even harder to find. This instrument is well made from beautiful woods with impeccable craftsmanship. For years he sold his instruments to contest fiddlers at the National Old-time Fiddle Contest in Weiser, ID. I could sell this for more but I just want to get the money back that I spent from a good price at purchase when I bought and the work a luthier has done to set it up. Currently strung with near new Helicore Mediums. I will ship this a a near new foam, rectangular case and well packed in a box. I will pay for shipping and insuarnce. The price is final.
To answer the obvious question I am selling because I have a fiddle from another VMAAI maker that I like better and prize more and I can only play 1 at a time and believe someone else is ready to move up to and will benefit from this type of instrument
