4/4 German Violin Early 20th Century
This is a German Violin made around the early 1900's. Very nice flamed two piece back and carved scroll. Label inside says, "Nicolaus Amatus Fecit Cremona 16??" But we all know this wasn't made by him or that year. What it really is, is a very nicely made German trade fiddle and probably one of their better ones. It is crack free and in very good plus condition. Setup is very easy to play and has Wittner peghead style tuners that make tuning a breeze with no slipping or binding. Harp shaped Hill style tailpiece. Fitted with Warchal Amber strings. This fiddle has a very nice depth in it's tone and very even sounding between all the strings. Comes with a new wood, "Londoner" one star bow and nice oblong case.
