Pomeroy Fiddle #16 all hand made by Don Paine in February 11, 2015.
Excellent condition +++
I am the second owner. The luthier, himself, was the first owner and played it for years in his band, "Wooden Nickel." Sound Files available upon request.
It is a wonderful fiddle in all ways: it plays effortlessly and the sound is resonantly loud and robust (Too loud for my apartment even with a mute).
The Fiddle lives in a Deluxe Bobolocke HSC with Hygrometer and includes a very lightly used, recently purchased Coda GX Diamond Bow (Pictured) and has about 30 hours of playing time on it with minimum rosin used.
Shoulder rest, rosin, and mute (Made of hard rubber and amazingly effective) all included, as well as an S-shaped sound post setter.
The Back is a One-Piece, Slab-Sawn, Figured Red Maple: the tone from that is amazing, and the reason there is such mighty projection of sound out of this small package.
The top is of an Artist Grade, hand-split, Englemenn wood harvested by Don in the Colorado Rockies.
The Scroll is also Hand-Carved.
Ebony fingerboard, tuning pegs, nut, and saddle.
Ebony Guarnieri Style Chin Rest.
The fiddle was purchased USED for $2500, and only included the Bobolocke Case
(Don sells his new fiddles with case between $3200-$3600 but is not currently taking orders on them in order to focus on mandolins. The average build time for a fiddle is 120 hours!).
The Coda GX Diamond bow was purchased separately for $850 brand new from Osnes Violins/Cellos of Anchorage, Alaska.
Asking price: $2500/OBO for the fiddle, bow, case and extras.
If The Coda GX Diamond Bow is not wanted, I'll sell the fiddle and case for $1995.00
Special Note: the fiddle luthier, Don Paine, will be able to answer any questions you have about it and can vouch for me as a seller. Please visit the Pomeroy Instruments Webpage for inquiries.
Don is willing to be a third party to inspect the instrument before it is shipped to the buyer, but the buyer must submit payment prior to the shipment.
Go to Pomeroy Instruments Web Page and click on "Available Instruments." You'll see " Fiddle #16" which is this fiddle. Awesome sound file included there.
Severe Tinnitus forces the untimely sale.
