Professional grade instrument. Handmade in a 20th century German workshop in Markneukirchen area circa 1900-1920.
The back is of two pieces of maple cut on the quarter of medium width flame descending slightly from the center cut joint. The ribs and scroll are of a similar maple. The top is of two pieces of spruce cut on the quarter of medium width grain widening slightly at the flanks. The varnish is orange-brown over a golden ground.
This instrument has been fully restored and plays beautifully.
