German factory made 4/4 size violin imported by Bruno in New York in the early 1900's. Labeled E. Martin, Sachsen (Saxony) Germany. Copy of Amati. Quality instrument from shop of well-known maker.
The violin has a one-piece back of flamed maple. Very fine grain spruce top. The pegs, fingerboard and chinrest are ebony. The fluted tailpiece is ebony. Has the E. Martin monogram on the back. It is rare to see an E. Martin with a one-piece back. Set up with correct action height and is ready to play.
The violin is fitted with and excellent Albert 3 star bridge and Helicore strings. It has a good mellow tone.
The problem is that the lower part of the back has back has a water stain.
The bottom has been professionally reglued with violin Hyde glue.
