This is a rare high end American shop made violin from Ft. Worth, TX 1995 that was just revoiced by renowned maker John Silakowski. The result is a gorgeous instrument with excellent feel and playability. The tone is thick, very balanced, round and open. Set up with despiau bridge, wittner tailpiece, dominant strings with gold label E.
I had this violin revoiced to use as my main fiddle, but due to recent unexpected medical bills, I'm forced to sell my high end fiddles. This violin was originally appraised at 5k in 1995, and with the revoice and quality woods, it is on par with John's benchmade instruments in the 8-10k range. Whoever gets this fiddle is going to be very happy. I do have the option for John to make this fiddle a 5 string for an extra cost. He said it would make a great sounding and feeling 5 string fiddle and he can do the conversion.
Price is much less than what I have invested in this instrument. I will ship well packed in an old case for protection.
Attached is a video sample to get an idea of the tone. It will continue to up in tone as it is played regularly.
