My Gold Tone fiddle mute is my former Gold Tone banjo mute.
I stuck in on my bridge and I
like the results.

I just tried this and it works pretty good. Muted the treble a lot more than bass.
I had to be careful to put it on halfway up to avoid the curly cue points sticking on the felt.

Used a Goldtone mute and one from Banjo Ben's. Both are ok.
My sessions are longer and better since I started using a Mike's mute. I take it off for a bit here and there, but I like to use it.
Also my hearing has suffered enough damage. I spend far too much on hearing aids and have too much trouble hearing to make my own hearing worse.

I have a rubber mute on my "Calin Wultur" violin. Otherwise, I would not be able to play it due it's volume and brightness.
