The Violin Beautiful - Posted - 05/22/2021: 18:47:28
This is a nice old “Hopf” 7/8 German violin. It has a very quick response and puts out a lot of sound despite being a little shorter.
The player who owned it before selling it to me received as a present from her father in the 1950s as her first violin. She used it throughout school and into adulthood. It got her into several orchestras and remained an important part of her life even after she eventually purchased a fine instrument. She decided to sell it so that someone else might share in the enjoyment she experienced with it.
It will make a good fiddle. It has a certain rustic charm coupled with good quality wood.
