Does anyone know if Ian Walsh is still fiddling..?
I was asked by someone who really liked his OnLineVideos.com instruction.
Tried "Googling" but found nothing.
I think he came from the St Louis area.
Cheers.

I wonder, I've learned a lot of tunes from his Youtube videos. Hope he's doing well!

He's not very old, so should be fine.  Yes, he is from St. Louis, never ran into him more than in passing.

I learned a lot of tunes from the online website. This is a guess, but I think he just stop making the videos. All of sudden, and for quite a while, new videos stopped appearing. I checked his website and learned he had expanded his playing repertoire to bluegrass as well as Irish music.
Some St. Louis Mo. fiddle can probably provide detailed info.

My Ian Walsh story:

I came across his video teaching La Partida (Venezuelan waltz). Sounded pretty daunting, but I figured doable.

I got through most of the A part OK before I realized time was running out and he wouldn't have time to show the B part. Then it dawned on me. Yes, I had that epiphany. And I went "DOH!"

But it was the B part that I really thought I'd need help with. OK, this was in my "cheap" days, as in I'm too cheap to pay.

So I started taking the B part apart, and, LO, I found it wasn't really that hard as it sounded.

Result is I have enjoyed La Partita (in Bm) for years now. And I probably should front him some $$ for that.

the lessons Ian puts on you tube are just teasers to get you to buy the complete lesson. They are very reasonable in price. I bought one from him a few months ago. The Maidens Prayer for $10 Down loads to your PC. He is a fantastic player.
