So, I've gotten interested in Garry Harrison, and I'm trying to get my hands on a copy of Dear Old Illinois. Apparently the book was made available in the now-defunct CD Baby store. As far as I can tell, it's not available anywhere now. As usual for these situations, there are a few used copies on the internet in the $200 range. Anybody have any knowledge about legitimate sources for a copy, or if the publisher plans to re-ink it or digitize it back into legitimate existence? I'd love to get a pdf or other ebook format copy.

I didn’t find a source for ordering the later 2007 copyrighted paperback edition. But looking in my copy I got through CD Baby last year, I see that it was published by “Pick Away Press”, Bloomington, Indiana. There’s a preface in the book from the coauthor, Jo Burgess, dated 2016.
A web search for “Dear Old Illinois” Pick Away Press, led me to the site detailing the book including an email at the bottom of the “Order” page, which still refers you to CD Baby for purchase. Perhaps you could find updated information through the given email: pickawaypress@yahoo.com.
I would think there would still be new paperback copies somewhere, and I do recommend either edition, and I’m happy with my new $40 paperback. Good luck. Steve

I sent a couple of emails to the address Steve linked since the CD Baby store closure. I never received a reply. I find if I periodically search Abe books and eBay I’ll occasionally find a title at a more reasonable price with a bit of patience.

The only DOI i've heard was Chirps Smith's. Don't know if it involved the
Volo Bogtrotters or not?

The post is asking about the print collection of the same title. Chirps played in a band with Garry Harrison and they played a lot of the tunes Garry collected for the book. The band was Indian Creek Delta Boys. Pre-Bogtrotters, I believe.

Definitely following this thread. I know it was available on CDBaby for a while, but CDBaby shut down its webstore. I hope it's still available somewhere.

Cliff says he will ask Gena about it, since CDBaby no longer handles it
"DOI was available on CD Baby but that site changed its business model and Gena hasn't had time to find a new vendor for it. I can check with her about sales and get back to you."

Used copies at outrageous prices, i.e. starting at just over $200.

Which doesn't surprise me. Classic case of supply and demand of a demanded item.
I think it's been through 2 printings that I know of. A 3rd would surely be in the offing...
