I'm playing my banjo in this but way in the background as I wasn't "up to speed" on this tune. In fact, I stopped playing part way through and just watched and listened to Lynn Young and Mark Paninos play. It's one of my favorite's and these guys (and the other talented people in this group) are the main reason I ended up buying my first fiddle last August. I've been listening and watching really good fiddle players for quite some time, wondering, "how on earth do they do that!?" So, I bought a fiddle with the goal of being able to learn a few tunes on it. It has been one of the greatest adventures of my life.
I can keep up with these folks pretty well on my banjo. At just shy of 73 and only playing the fiddle since August, 2019, I can't imagine I'll ever be up to speed on the fiddle so I can play with them (in person). I do play along with them (in the privacy of my home) on some of the simple, standard old time tunes I know that I've recorded from our sessions. I've got to use a "slowdowner" sometimes, I must admit.
