Does anybody have a copy of the soundsheet from the Hot Licks book by Stacey Phillips?Have the book, but the soundsheet has long disappeared. I'm trying to clean up my library and would like to have the soundsheet or a cassette or cd or even a digital copy to go with it.

Thanks

Do you mean one of these? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexi_disc

I have the book but mine didn't come with one. I can't remember if it came with a cd or not.

It came with a soundsheet, but I don't care what it is. They also came with a CD and apparently there are mp3 files, but I can't find how to buy/borrow/steal/beg one. Stacy Phillips died this year, so I can't contact him. I can't find any available on the OAK website, which really isn't OAK anymore.

I met Marty Laser the session player that played the licks on that sound sheet(now long gone I am afraid the (sheet that is). We were jamming at a fiddlers convention and I was twining another fiddler when this harmony line over mine. It was Marty and he sure is a hot fiddler. Those sheets were pretty short with only a few licks on them as I recall.

I do have the soundsheet in Stacy's book. I don't have an easy way to turn it into MP3s, though.

What is a sound sheet? The CD that came with it?

Flexible thin plastic record album that was perforated and was too be torn out and played. When I was a kid, sometimes a cereal box would have one printed onto the box that you would cut from the box and play on the record player. Try that with a CD!

I have an extra CD I'll sell you for 15 bucks including shipping. I lost my book but had the CD, so when I replaced the book, I got the CD, too. Now I have the book and 2 CDs.

So, how highly would you recommend this book to someone who is looking to learn more bluegrass licks? I know a few simple ones but ready for an upgrade.

It's great book, but I never learnt the licks note for note, it gave me ideas on how to create my own licks....
