So I brought my relatively new Fiddlerman CF bow along with a J LaSalle bow I’ve had for 20 plus years and a couple of Mendini bows. The audience was 4 bluegrass pickers (no fiddlers) each with over 15 years experience in different bands and each had had at least one cd release. Just calling each bow by number I played the identical version of soldiers joy. All four listeners preferred the sound of the CF. One listener who also works as a dj and promoter asked me who my favorite fiddler was. I responded “Kenny Baker” he said definitely use the CF bow.

I got one of those as a backup. It is made well, though some hair was not tensioned evenly. Wire grip a little cheesy (turns my finger green), but it tracks just fine. 60 bucks new when I bought it.
I wonder if your audience picked it out just because it is a different color (black)?

I thought of that as one of the pickers has been a picking pal for over 10 years. It was 10 pm and I played in the shadows. The order was Mendini 1 La Salle, CF, Mendini 2. I’ve had no problems with the bow or green fingers.
