I haven't been playing much lately, but this morning I took my first fiddle out to the backyard, and even put some rosin on the bow (which I've had for about 45 years and still don't like much, even though its pernambuco and stamped "Made in France"). Anyway, I started with "Shove That Pigsfoot a little fu'ther in the Fire" in honor of those members who are wearing out their vegan Birkenstocks searching for this imaginary tool. Then I played Marcus Martin's "Sugar in the Gourd," which I actually know. Then a little Henry Reed medley of "Red Fox" and "Sally Ann Johnson" and then "Jaybird." I had to quit because I was getting drowned out by the robins and mockingbirds - don't know if they were singing along or protesting. Anyway it was a nice way to start the day ,- hope you have a good one too.
