I just purchased a villa to learn on but it doesn't come with a bow or rosin. I was wondering what kind of bow should I get?
Price range??
I saw a carbon fiber bow on eBay that was 23 bucks. Looked pretty good to me , but I am a newbie so........

I would suggest going to a violin/fiddle shop in the area. You are not far from Fayetteville and there should be several there. Look for one that supports school orchestras. They will likely have a broad selection of new and used bows. If you go at little farther over to Mountain View, stop in at the Music Shop just off the Square. Scott or Shay Poole can help you out.
Bows are going a vary tremendously depending on the material, the craftsmanship, etc. Many folks like the carbon fiber bows, however, I am not one of them. Regardless of the material, invest as much as you can into the bow. You will not regret the money spent!!

Thanks ChickenMan, I would have never thought of that. :-)
Hey Fiddler, you know I am due for a Mtn. View trip. I think you may have solved my problem for me.

If your a starting out beginner, then I would get a cheap decent bow cause your going to be concentrating more on notes for your fingers than so much on your bowing.

as much as you can afford - don't think cheap. It is as much a part of your viola as anything else.
Don't know what to look for? Ask. Especially if you go to see Scott in Mt View. He will help - not only with the selection, but he will explain why...
