I saw this old post and decided to start a new one since the old one is closed. If you are looking for a superb sounding fiddle/violin that won’t break the bank I would recommend Randal Eller of Eller Instruments in Chilhowie, VA. He apprenticed with the great Albert Hash. I have 5 of his fiddles and they are killer. I tried 2 $20,000 Peter Seman violins and they couldn’t hold a candle to Randal’s fiddles.

Bob Kain in Campbelltown, PA makes some mighty fine fiddles too. countrystringshop.com/
I have played his fiddles for nearly 20 years and they are great IMHO.
