I remember, about 20 years or more ago, that one of the high-end soft case sellers, like Reunion Blues or Blue Heron or one of those, sold a soft case for fiddle that had a PVC tube to protect the bow. I have been looking but have not been able to find one, new or used. Anyone have any idea who used to make it, and if they still do? Or if any used ones are available?
Thank you!

I remember seeing one at Fiddle Camp several years ago. This might work for you. R/

The only ones I've ever seen were for electric violins.
It seems like a bad idea for a regular acoustic? Given that they make pretty lightweight yet sturdy protective cases. Many case cover options to provide more pockets, and straps, like backpack straps. I just wouldn't think of risking with a softcase.

BAM makes a case that is not quite soft but is foam, and uses a tube for the bow(s). See: bamcases.com/en/instruments/st...blue.html It might have advantages for carrying on an airplane, but I can't say on that score (I'm now using an Aileen Air without trouble for air travel). It's 67 cm (about 26.5") long, 3.6 kg (about 7.92 lbs).

Thanks for the responses. I'm looking for something very light, to attach to a backpack for backpacking trips. I may have to go with one of those foam cases that come with some beginner outfits. They seem very light and probably more protective than a real soft case.
