My version in DDAD is heavily influenced by David "Fox" Watson.

Yes----you are right about the input level and nobody knows this more than I do. If you think this is bad just listen to some of my other posts. Almost all of them are from a tape I made at my mother's about 2 years ago. I'm just too lazy to record them again. One of my old friends from the University of Arkansas has helped me get started with audacity and I'm getting better. My equipment is not the best---an old cassette recorder that I found at Goodwill for $5 and two mikes that I bought at a yard sale for $3. I may open my own recording studio soon. Thanks for all the suggestions I have received from ALL for improving recordings. Now----back to the studio. LRHAMP aka lrhamp

Hi Irhamp,
That is great fiddling. I've been using Audacity for several years, along with a cheapo PC microphone. I love the way Audacity lets you record on different tracks, but synchronization of tracks can be tricky because of the computer delay. I like to listen to an existing track through headphones while recording the new one. I find it's much easier to align the tracks if I record metronome beats a bit before the music starts; sort of like registration marks. If anybody has a better way to do it, I'd like to hear about it.
Regards,
Tom
