I have been playing for just over 6 weeks, and am self taught, so if you have sensitive ears, consider your self duly warned.

I haven't learned any songs yet, so this is just me messing around pretending I sound better than I do. Thanks for listening.

I think pretending you know what you're doing is half the trick... confidence, and that sort of thing!
You're doing just fine!
Always most sincerely yours,

You're making good progress- using drones like that is great for your intonation.
Your sense of rhythm is good too.
That actually sounds a lot like the hymns they used to sing in about 1840 or so-
I used to be in a Sacred Harp singing group years ago.
Those old hymn tunes are a lot like fiddle tunes.
Have you had the strings changed yet?
Sometimes the strings fiddles come with are pretty bad-
a lot of newbie fiddlers report much improved tone with the first change to
a decent set of strings.

Good job Sarah, I am not brave enough to go public yet. Keep it up thanks.
Music is nothing else but wild sounds civilized into time and tune.

nope, still the same old crappy strings. I look forward to when I can replace them. And to be honest I have impressed my self as well. i have a few friends that have been trying to learn and they haven't gotten very far. Thanks for the encouragement.
And i didn't make the tune up while I was recording, but I did just kinda play it and I liked it so I played it over and over till I remembered it. So originally it was just improv. :)
