After a year of lessons and a lot of practice, it actually doesn't sound too bad. I've tried out some other student models in the $300-$400 that are definately easier on the ears. |

Setup
|
The bridge was floating in the case when I got it, but after I got it in the right place it played just fine. I have shaved down the bridge to be more fiddle friendly since then, but thats about it. |

Appearance

It has a dark red high-gloss finish that I originally thaught was cool and different, but just looks cheap to me now. It does have boxwood fittings with the Strad chinrest, I still like that |

Hardware seems pretty sturdy, the finish has a few dings in which white wood is exposed. It's an allright practice/beginner fiddle, but I'm not taking it to any jams. |

The boxwood fittings are the nicest thing about it. |

I bought this fiddle without ever playing a fiddle. After a year of lessons and a lot of practice, it doesn't sound so bad. I can't wait to replace it, but I'm so glad I bought it. It's perfect if you want to try it without a big investment, stays in tune, fairly easy to play, but quickly outgrown. |
