Sound
|
This violin has a warmer sound than the Scott Cao Violin of similar price. It is dark and rich in sound good for orchestras. I was impressed by its qualitiy for a student violin. When I play a G on the D string its very crisp. |

Setup
|
The violin was less than half a turn out of tune. Its bridge was carefully alligned with the fingerboard. I also liked the fact that it came with warm sounding Thomastik Vision Strings. |

Appearance
|
It has a very attractive spirit varnish and the wood of the neck is very different. The wood has dark marks either from the wood itself or burn marks. It's chin rest is unique in the fact that it isn't the usual color of black for a student violin. |

So far everything is like new. Even the smell of the case and wood is still there. |

Customer Service

Shar is a very prominent compamy in music. Their customer service is very helpful and friendly. The violin itself was under a seven day trial with a total refund and an extended warranty (free) for 30 days. |

I ordered the TC-100 case and it works pretty well for a shaped case. The strings are from the same makers of the Dominant. However, the bow is an octagonal brazilwood bow from China. It is only good as a secondary bow, I suggest a better student bow like a bl-20 from Eastman Strings |

Overall Comments

It is a very reliable student violin and worth every red penny. This violin is good for middle school and high school orchestra. Although not the best its good to grow on. |
