I'm very nervous. It could be a train wreck. I know a few Scottish tunes. I get exposed to a lot of Old Time and Irish tunes going to Contra Dances, but not a lot of Scottish, so a lot of their tunes/melodies are not even in my head.

I do love Scottish sets though and the few Jam's I've attended has been a mixed bag.

It looks like a very cool camp though. One of the teachers I have had many times at Brian Wicklund camp, so that will be something familiar.

I signed up for Intermediate II Level.

Yes, Addie, that's exactly how it happens. I've seen it many times.



Logo - looks like a great camp and place (and if ought to be for that price!) Just remember your kilt, sporran and sgian dubh and you should be fine.



Have fun! I'm sure Scots are a lot more fun than they're made out to be.

True, it's happened with a lot of Irish tunes as well.

​One Scottish Jam I went to, I felt like I knew every tune and didn't know that until my fingers told me I did :). Then another Jam I didn't know a single tune. And they tend to not play the tunes long enough (for me) to pick them up (fairly strict on 3 times through).
