Does anyone know where I can find a tab for the fiddle for Sweet Home Alabama? I've looked everywhere and can't manage to locate one!

You've probably been playing fiddle a lot longer than I have, so I don't know if my input will help at all. I'll give it a shot, though.

Just went and gave the song a listen, and didn't hear a fiddle in there, at least not in the Lynrd Skynrd version, so I'll guess that you're looking for a transcription specifically for fiddle. I've never seen one either. (I'm also not very accustomed to tab, even for guitar or mandolin, and had never seen fiddle tab until your mention of it sent me digging through the archives here.)

Do you read standard 5-line notation? That would make it easy for you to work something up from a keyboard transcription.

Another possible angle is that the Sweet Home Alabama chord progression runs D - C - G pretty much all the way through, which is basically a V - IV - I progression in G. That's a good key for fiddle, so it's probably feasible to work something out by ear. I bet it would sound great, too.

Hey thanks for the response! I do read standard 5 line sheet music. I tried finding a piano version to play off of but couldn't locate the main part to the song.

I was able to find a great fiddle cover on youtube, however, I can't play by ear very well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ek3giHVsIjE

Let me know what you think!?

I like that cover! The interplay between the viola and the violin is nicely done, and they trade off melody and harmony parts very smoothly.
