CAn anyone direct me to safe, free/low-cost downloadable software to get recordings from camps & classes off SONY mini-discs and onto an HP pc running Windows 7? SONY doesn't provide anything anymore. Thanks. Sue

Somebody asked about this recently, so you might want to dig up that discussion. Audacity is probably the best free program. |

Well, it looks like maybe it was you, Sue, asking the same question in this thread: http://www.fiddlehangout.com/archive/20091
My answer is still the same - play it into a USB or Firewire digital audio interface, and edit with whatever software you like. rcc provided good information in that thread too.

Oh, drat! Sorry. It's been a long coupla' years with family illness, etc. It jsut slipped my mind I asked before. This time I'll copy the info (from the archive) and put with the recorder, and do the work. Sue |

FYI -- the Sonicstage (4.3, I think) software seems to work with Windows 7. Or at least it starts up and configures properly. I haven't actually tried to download anything yet. |
