That is that kind of old time that escapes my way of thinking.  I came up on a whole different sound and never got into this too much, but is sounds great.  I guess being in Alaska today is a lot like being in KY 60 plus years ago.  This sounds like long winter nights trying to keep warm.

You copied the original pretty good, sounds to me. Good playing.

Haha, thanks everyone! Jim Bowles is indeed a pimp. I hope to post a take on his Sally Gooden (http://slippery-hill.com/M-K/GDAE/G/SallyGooden.mp3) sometime soon. I think it's a toss up between that and Ida Red for my all time favorite Bowles recordings.

He does some really neat variations in this one that I have yet to work out. He also does the endings of each phrase a little differently bowing-wise than I was doing in my recording and the timing is so hard for me to get right when I do it that way. Hopefully I'll pull it off eventually, I like it better.
