The August installment of the ITOTM would be another double jig, "The Rambling Pitchfork"

The title may seem funny to you, a 'pitchfork' is a nickname for a country farmer, like a 'hayseed' 

This tune was one that was very popular with people who I learned about the music from, Paddy Reynold's claimed it was the 'finest' and I borrrow some variations from another New York Irish American fiddler: Tony DeMarco.

Things have been a little crazy around here lately, but I'll jump in as soon as I can!  You make me want to get my penny whistles out..... 

Very nice tune, learned it years ago. It's one I never think of playing when sitting here by myself,  but that has now changed after dusting it off a bit before doing making a vid. Here's how it came out today.

 Nice :)  Thanks for posting. I started working on it a couple days ago. I'll hopefully have time to record mine this weekend :)  I've never heard the tune before, but love it. I'm finding that it's very soothing to play this one.

Mad Baloney - absolutely lovely playing on the fiddle!  Great tune - very melodic which is what I really like about Irish Trad tunes.  Solid rhythms and great melodies, too.

another whistler! I've been playing the whistle a ton lately myself. maybe I'll post it on the whistle too.
