I just started playing with a bow that is a transitional bow.  Similiar curvature to a modern bow but about 2 1/2 inches shorter made of snakewood (stiffer).  The hair ribbon is slightly narrower too.  For some reason I feel more confident playing it and it seems I can be quicker somehow.  I have to admit that I almost run out of bow once or twice, but so far so good:)  Had been using a both CF bow and a really good modern one that I was happy with, but I had a chance to play an older style bow and immediately got hooked.  Any one else use a non-modern bow?

I just put up some video under the sound-off section using it.

Yes, got one back some time from a maker in China. The only problem is that it is too short to fit in the case.

I've been using a baroque style bow for quite a while now.  The shorter length is no problem for the OT style I play and the bow is lighter than most 'modern' bows (a quality I prefer).  Judging from your videos, Peter, it suits you fine too!cool

Here is a unique one that I have used for several years. Being snakewood, it is as heavy as a long bow and it generates a powerful sound.
