I worked this out from the Melvin Wine recording. When you go into AEAD, this cool little tune really plays itself. A feature of this tune is the accenting with "pulsing" double up bows. Listen for it, it happens in purt near every phrase. Hope you like the tune!
lovely to hear young folks work with Melvin Wine's material. you did a fine job here, nick. Melvin's style really points back to a way earlier time. Folks who knew him in his twenties said he tried to play as many of his dad's tunes as he could, and "Bob Wine's Tune" is a good example of the early way of playing from that part of WVA. can't wait to hear the next tune you develop!
Thanks a lot, you guys! I really appreciate the kind words. I'm a huge Melvin fan and have been on a mostly-Melvin kick lately. His tunes are a lot of fun to play, and are usually pretty straightforward, bowing-wise. I'll definitely share the next Melvin tune I work out with you guys. Lots of great ones to choose from...
I love that Going Down to Georgie-O video on Youtube, by the way. Check it out if you haven't seen it!
