Jim-
You might want to check out the Tabledit program. It can use either notation or tab and can switch one to the other. I believe it will accept midi inputs and convert, but since I don't use midi I haven't tested it.
There is a free download that will allow you to save and print up to 16 bars, but to go any further you need to buy the license. Go to tabledit.com and check it out. Be sure to get the full program, not the free TABView viewer.

Jen-
Are you a member of the efdss? I was hunting around in the link you gave and I can't find any way to access the information without $$ output.

Jen (I just haven't gotten around to emailing yet - I have been involved with the mystery of the not working furnace - which they worked for 3 hours on last night, and it was unbelievable to wake up to a warm house!
We are still waiting for parts - and they don't think it will hold - but so far so good!

I'll pass on them.

Hi Jen, Brad, et al-
My website has a lot of links to fiddle music sources - pdfs, MP3s, etc.
Take a look at reinerfamilyband.com and go to the Links page.

I ran across the County Champaign 300, lost them again, and finally found them at a new site. three PDF files of 100 tunes each, numbered and some annotated with traditional play order...

Here is a site I believe I got from someone here: jaybuckey.com/free_tablature.htm It has sheet music, tab, and some midis. I have found it quite helpful for me as a beginner. Hope it will be useful to others

I uploaded hundreds of old Celtic tunes to my server.
Each tune is a ".gif" They are all grouped into folders by type. Hornpipes, reels, waltz, jigs, etc.. I zipped all the folders together with WinZip and uploaded the entire thing to my server. I then downloaded the zip file to my computer and opened it again to make sure that everything worked well and it did. There are 10 MB of music here if you want them. No audio files.

Very Cool! Thanks!
Also, just for those wondering about hearing what ornamentation can be, I am adding Percy;s links (youtube) here -
I believe you're talking about "Celtic Ornamentation" and there's a great demonstration of this on youtube:

youtube.com/watch?v=xRR94Kh_U2k
He also has a bunch of great lessons on youtube... I use the roll all the time!!

Celtic tunes of course can be found using JC's ABC Tunefinder (posted above), but one of my all time favorite sites for Celtic music is The Session.org
