have played Old Time music for 30 years +. I have instructed in both banjo and fiddle for at least half of my years as a musician. Have worked through the Ohio Arts Council as a Master Artist with various Apprentices for the last 7 years. The devil is not in the woodpile but rather in the bowing which is an area I like to focus on. Melodies are a dime a dozen, but if your bowing isn't right you ain't fiddlin'. It is for this reason that I prefer 'in person ' lessons, although I will occasionally do skype too, the delay makes it hard to teach bowing. I will work with beginners who have had at least a year of formal training already.
