I keep getting an email notification for posts here on the Forum. I've went into settings, tried everything and they keep coming in...lol.

problems with password

For some reason - FHO lost track of my password, except when I go through Duck Duck Go. When I let FHO know I forgot my password, I try to change it, but it will not recognize that I did change it - so I can't log in. Except through Duck Duck Go. For some reason it will still log me in automatically.

So, I can't login through Edge or Google, but I can through Duck Duck Go. hmmmm... how does that work?

Doesn't seem sized correctly. Every other thread comes up (view) is okay.

HOW TO... insert an image using 3rd Party Host

Here's how to insert a picture into your post using another website image host. (Thanks Woodwiz for showing me how to do this long ago.) 1. Open an account on www.Photobucket.com (it's free, but you have to register). 2. Follow their prompts to upload the .jpg image to photobucket. 3. Click on the "IMG Code" tag underneath photobucket image to copy the URL to your clipboard. [IMG]http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t187/jyellott/PhotobucketImage-1.jpg[/IMG] 4. Go to FHO and write your post. When you are at the point you want to insert your image, press Ctrl-V and this will paste the URL code into your post. 5. To check to see if it all worked, click on the preview button.

WEBMASTER EDIT: this post was written before we set up the "attachments" tool. The best way to include photos in your posts now is to click "Add Attachements" and use that tool. It will include a nice thumbnail of the photo, which can be clicked to enlarge. And it's easy!

Read below if you're still interested in "the old way..."

Here is a way to insert images in your posts.

Note: This method uses images that are in your FHO Member Homepage. There's another way to do this that uses a third-party image host and I'll cover that in a separate post.

The first step is to upload images to your FHO Member Homepage (explained in another posting).

1. Select "Reply to Post" or open a "New Topic"

2. When you come to the point where you want to insert an image:
a) Open another internet browser window:
b) Go to your FiddleHangout Member Homepage,
c) Open your photo album that contains the photo you want.to insert

3. Enlarge the image by clicking on it, then right-click on the image and select "Properties" (i.e., left-click on the word Properties). It will bring up a box that look like this:

4. Highlight the Address (URL) code as shown here:

5. Press Ctrl-C to copy the code to your clipboard.

6. Go back to the other browser window where you were writing your post (back at the start of step 2) and click on your message box so you have the familiar "blinking edit bar" where you want to insert your image.

7. Press Ctrl-V to insert the code from your clipboard. It will look something like this:
fiddlehangout.ws/users/photos/...12008.jpg

8. Highlight all of the text you just pasted (from ... to ...jpg) and click on the insert image icon that I've circled here:

9. Continue writing your post.

10. To check to see if it all worked, click on the preview button before clicking on "Post Reply" or "Post New Topic"

HOW TO ...post images to your FHO Member Homepage

To upload photos to your member homepage. 1. Open your FHO Homepage ----Click on Community, Member Homepages, My Homepage. 2. In the top left corner is a place for you to display a "Profile Photo" ----Click on the word "Photo" in the top right frame of your image (or placeholder). Click on "Upload New Photos" [img]http://www.hangoutstorage.com/fiddlehangout.com/storage/photos/small/1274-2123981112008.jpg[/img] 4. Click on "Upload Photos" (this button looks very much like the last picture). 5. At this point, a screen comes up that lets you select a .jpg file on your computer. To start this process, click on "Browse." [img]http://www.hangoutstorage.com/fiddlehangout.com/storage/photos/medium/1274-3123981112008.jpg[/img] 6. Follow the prompts to select up to five photos. 7. When you have finished selecting your photo(s), click on "Upload Photos" that is circled here: [img]http://www.hangoutstorage.com/fiddlehangout.com/storage/photos/medium/1274-4123981112008.jpg[/img] Edit Note: The links to the photos stopped working - probably because of some structure changes on the website. I re-linked them and brought the photos back.

Spelling Errors

I guess there are some bugs to be worked out. I just posted a note of thanks and found it to contain more spelling errors than I normally make. Lets see how this one does.
