As many may be aware, Billy Mathews has been diligently working on his recording project of 500 fiddle tunes. Volume 1, the first 100, has been out for about three years now. Volume 2, the second 100, has been out for about two years. Volume 3, the third 100, has been out for about a year, and Volume 4 for about six months. But, Billy has now completed Volume 5, the fifth 100 in the series! Each volume consists of 3 CDs, containing 100 fiddle tunes per volume, for a total of five volumes. A book containing all the tunes, written in notation, will eventually follow. Billy says the name of the tune and tuning he plays it in, then plays each tune not too fast, not too slow, for 2-3 minutes each. These are great learning tools, as well as easy listening.
