<itunes:summary>Yup, an Old Time tune AND an Irish jig.
Not really a medley, I&amp;#39m just playing Arkansas Traveler once through to establish that, yes indeed, it IS me!!!
Cook in the Kitchen is my favorite Irish jig, so I play it a lot. Not sure if I could switch styles as easily to any other Irish tune.
And I&amp;#39m not sure if this attempt qualifies as Irish Trad (I doubt it, actually) or will be derided as &amp;#34Celtic&amp;#34. But I tried!!!
Same recording setup as before with the two Naiant X-Qs, no effects.</itunes:summary>

<title>Buzzards in Love (wind ensemble demo)</title>
<itunes:author>Roger Aldridge</itunes:author>
<author>Roger Aldridge</author>
<link>http://www.fiddlehangout.com/myhangout/music.asp?ID=23160</link>
<itunes:summary>In case folks in the fiddle community are thinking that I&amp;#39ve totally lost my mind in posting this music, there is a method to my madness. :))

Buzzards in Love is an extended piece for wind ensemble that I wrote in 2009. The music has a good amount of humor and it&amp;#39s intended to be fun to play. If there is a school or community band in your area, please see if they could be interested in it. A score is available on my page at the American Music Center (AMC link is on my homepage). Contact me for a set of parts. The music is being made available to interested bands for no cost.

SO, HOW DOES A FIDDLE COME IN, you are probably asking? The score has several improvisation sections. The &amp;#34Roadkill Interlude&amp;#34 section (heard as a period of silence in the demo recording) is completely open to anything that is creative and fun. I can easily imagine the band bringing in a fiddle player to cut loose in that section and totally tear it up. Thus, if there is a band in your area and if the director has an open mind and a spirit of adventure, this piece could be a great chance for a fiddler to perform with a band.

Note: the MP3 file was generated by Silibelius software and is a rough approximation of how the peice sounds with a real band.</itunes:summary>
