Update: Oct 29/12: Downloading is now available for this tune. Thanks for listening.
I been composing tunes in the last couple of weeks, and a couple in Ireland have been helping out in recording them. They are called Dulahan Ireland. We are "friends" online through TradConnect.com.
Their ability to play so well a new tune astounds me at the least.. I have not tried these tunes at this pace, about 160BPM in 12/8 time which is the dotted 1/4 note gets the beat.
The tunes are slides, and I have one more coming which is Carpenter Bill which is a double jig in 6/8.
I have not allowed downloading at this time until I get permission from them to do so. It's my song yes, but it is their performance. So keep checking.
Comments on the structure of the tune is welcomed. I don't think you will have a problem with their performances.
Enjoy: AJ

I have always gravitated to the old...old...old tunes of Breton (British Isles) as far as I can remember. Waltzes are my other favorite.
This is on my newly acquired 1893 HOPF violin.

I was trying to "simulate" somewhat of the recording from Saint Vitus Dance Band. I was playing a solo at a request and the mixer decided to throw on the echo. Hides some of the mistakes.

I have always found this tune somewhat of an enigma...Key signature in G yet all the F's are natural...go figure. And then you play an F chord right where you would not think of it...WIER OR WHAT? :)
Hopefully I will get this faster...right now I end up with 2 left arms if I try to go faster. :0
Anyhow...hope you enjoy it

This recording is raw into my new Blue Yeti USB cardioid microphone. I was sitting 4 feet away from it with the gain dial on the mic at 50% with the setting for unidirectional. There are 4 settings on this mic. It was worth the money I have to tell you. Thanks to Doyle for introducing me to this piece. I believe it is in Am.

Way back in the ླ'68;s I was a member of a band called Celtic Song at the time Irish/Celtic music was just gaining its popularity. At this time I was not playing fiddle, but the whistle.
I found some of our old recordings and have remastered them. I am an amateur at this so I hope I didn't screw up to much.
Anyhow, hope you enjoy

Raw recording with a computer mic. I have always played rhythm for this tune and found the melody a little troublesome. I think I have it. The Fiddle really resonates with the cross tunning and seems to lend a little "LOVE" tone to it. Hope you enjoy..

Raw recording with computer mic. This is probably become my favorite waltz. The ambiance of the minor chording really pops this tune to me. Usually I play it in G in standard tuning, but didn't feel like retuning so I used the G scale fingering for the key of F with the GCgd tuning.
