What's new here

Monday, August 01, 2011 @12:32:29 PM

Fiddle camp in two weeks, so excited. Will be an anniversary of sorts.

In the middle of building my second fiddle from scratch, though I have been repairing quite a few wrecks that I have found. A particular one has become my main instrument. It required repairing top cracks, re graduating, new bass bar, repairing the tail block, and installing two lower corner blocks, as it had no corner blocks at all. I've got it set up really nice with Vision synthetics.

I finished F-5 mandolin #9 and the owner is happily strumming away on it in Montreal.

Looks like there is a cello build for me on the horizon.

And finally, I bought a new bow. I traded my $400 bow in on this one that is so awesome, it is all I will ever need now, costing $1500. Bought it from Frost Gully Violins in Freeport Maine. I highly recommend them. I seem to be playing as much classical as I am fiddle music these days, too, and Danielle and I are going to begin lessons in the near future.

I will be staying at the New Jersey shore area for the next couple of years, though will still maintain the Maine 'camp'. Traveling back and forth every other month or so.

Happy fiddling all,

Stephanie

oh mine, if I only could build fiddles/mandos, like you guys are doing, I guess, there isnt just enough time for everything.
